We have various events throughout the year, managed and delivered by each State organisation. National events are planned for 2010 and will be announced later this year.
Further details of the 2009 events listed here can be found on each State website a little closer to the time.

Strays Birthday – 1st September
Strays Birthday, on 1st September, is a day when we celebrate our own pets and acknowledge their special place in our lives by throwing them a birthday party and at the same time, raise funds to help rescue and rehome stray dogs and cats.
The Lort Smith Gala Dinner - November
A ‘must attend’ charity dinner event - with a spectacular dinner, live entertainment, auction opportunities, plenty of dancing and the chance to win a diamond just by sipping champagne. All our guests have the night of their lives and at the same time help to save the lives of an animals in need.

Christmas with the Animals - December
A hugely popular and well attended annual celebration event with open doors at the Ingleside and Hoxton shelters. Fundraising on the day through raffles, bbq, photos with Santa and lots more fun activities.

Corporate Golf Day – March
Tee up to raise funds for animals in need, local business and suppliers get a chance to show their skills on the golf course in support of the SA shelter.
Wine & Dine in the Vine – May/August
Don’t just enjoy the wine, beautiful setting and good food - enjoy helping animals in need too, all at the same time.

Queensland
Open Day – 22nd February
Showcasing the Queensland Animal Welfare League shelter. Open to the public, corporate supporters and council members.
50th Anniversary Party – March
Celebrating the Shelter being open 50 years, various activities and events happening on the day. Open to supporters, members, council and State Government guests.
Bark in the Park – September
Doug Jennings Park, awareness raising event and promotion of the “getting to zero” campaign.
Animal Art Exhibition – 2-4th October
A celebration of animals and the bond we enjoy with them. Open to the general public, members, supporters and corporate supporters
